What is Feldenkrais?
Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons are verbally guided movements exploring the fundamental biological patterns that allow for pain-free movement. By slowing down and reducing unnecessary effort, we become more aware of our habits and preferences and tap into comfort and ease. People often complain that exercise is boring. This is because our nervous system is curious and feeds on novelty. Feldenkrais uses subtle variation and surprising movement sequences to reengage the body-mind connection. For most, a difference can be felt after one lesson. Regular attendance deepens this sensitivity and the ability to integrate lessons into daily life.

Introduction to The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education:
The simple, gentle exercises taught in this weekly Feldenkrais class will help you to move and breathe more easily, both during the lesson and in your daily life.

MONDAYS
Feb. 22, 29, March 7, EXTENDED THRU SUMMER, 1:00 -2:00 pm
Cost: $15 per class, $40 for series
Mats and props provided. Drop-ins welcome. 

Awakening Sensation: Exploring the Intersection of Yoga & Feldenkrais:
The simple, gentle exercises taught in this weekly Feldenkrais class will help you to move and breathe more comfortably both during your Yoga practice and in your daily life.
You might supplement Yoga with Feldenkrais as a way to:
– practice embodied listening
– deepen your understanding of anatomical relationships
– sense small rotations and counterrotations involved in different poses
– increase flexibility and coordination
– reduce pain
